PHOTOS: These brand-new boats will carry passengers on Lake Balaton

According to Bahart Ltd, the company organising ferry services at Lake Balaton, ferries will commute between 23 June and 27 August every day until 11.40 PM. Furthermore, brand-new ferries and boats will serve passengers’ needs.

The summer timetable of the Balaton ferries and boats started this Friday, index.hu wrote. The ferries commute between Szántód and Tihany. From Szántód, they begin their journeys from 6.40 AM until 11.20 PM. Ferries set off from Tihany from 7 AM until 11.40 PM. The travel time is 8 minutes. Four new vessels will serve passengers’ needs during the summer season. The two new ferries are named Szántód and Tihany. Meanwhile, the two catamarans will sail under Balaton and Tokaj. The boats will serve local transport needs and tourists alike. They will have more space for passengers and cars, bikes, etc. The new vessels were built in the Komárom shipyard, and reached the Sió channel leading to Lake Balaton on Friday.
