Applying for Russian visa in Hungary easier from today

As we reported, on Tuesday morning, the US restricted the visa waiver for Hungarian passport holders, citing security risks. Just a bit later on the same day, the Russians announced that Hungarians can now apply for electronic visas to Russia.

As of Tuesday, the United States has significantly restricted visa-free travel from Hungary due to security concerns over Hungarian passports issued between 2011 and 2020. On the same day, the Russians have taken the opposite step: they are making it easier for Hungarians to obtain visas to Russia.

The electronic visa is available to citizens of 55 countries, including Hungary, for a fee of just USD 52. The electronic entry visa entitles the holder to a one-off stay of 16 days. It can be applied for on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website or via a mobile phone application, MTI reports.

They say that to apply for an e-visa, foreign nationals need a valid passport, health insurance and passport photo, but not an invitation, hotel reservation or other document proving the purpose of the trip. The application must be submitted no later than four days before the planned date of entry into Russia and the visa is valid for 60 days after issuance.

  1. Except for corrupt Hungarian businessmen making kickback deals in Russia and a few Hungarians who may have family ties in Russia who in their right mind want to travel to the land of the Orcs?

  2. I would rather travel to Russia and see a real country with a storied history and culture than travel to the US and its drag queen story hour and moral degeneracy. America is a dying empire that has turned its back on God. Russia has exited its troubled past and has found God and its roots. May God Bless the people of Russia.

  4. absolutely agreed with you Derrick. While US rise sanctions because our gouvernement protect citizens private data from them, Russia rise opportunities for us to visit this beautiful country. I understand that teenage anonymous leftist hate our religion, our family values and everything conservative, but I invite them to go to live in Germany facing recession or in France facing immigration civil War as they are the dream of the West !!

  5. Any one who wants to talk about Russia being “Godly” needs to know that the head of the Russian Orthodox church Patriarch Kirill is an ex-KGB agent. Look it up. The Russian state uses religion to manipulate the masses and bless their slaughter of innocent Ukrainians. Kirill has supported Russian war crimes and assured that any Russian soldier who dies while killing the innocents will have his sins washed. They are closet Satanists.

The identification of Russian forces who carried out various forms of torture and sexual violence on prisoners in the Ukrainian city of Kherson is “well underway,” according to a team of international lawyers investigating alleged war crimes.
According to the new evidence gathered by the investigation, at least 36 victims described the use of electrocution during interrogations, and of those cases nearly half involved electrocution of genitals. Others detailed incidents where genital mutilation was threatened and at least one person said they were forced to witness the rape of another detainee by a foreign object.
In March, the Mobile Justice Team reported that at least 20 torture sites in Kherson were directly financed by the Kremlin and managed by various Russian security agencies, including Russia’s Federal Security Services, known as the FSB, the successor to the KGB.

  7. Timing is so poetic…. US doesn’t want Hungarians but they can visit russia easily…..

Orban, once an anti-soviet, is bringing Hungary ever closer to russia…. isn’t it ironic?

What will he call the country when it becomes a full-fledged russian vassal?

a Második Magyar Népköztársaság doesn’t seem to fit…

  8. I respect Russia, its history and culture. And I certainly have got nothing against its people in general. Plus, I am no fan of the Usa whatsoever.
However, each time I read such extreme anti-Usa and pro-Russia comments I ask myself two questions: 1. Would all these non-Russian Russophilos really live in Russia? 2. Are there long lines of visa-seeking people waiting in front of Russia’s consulates?
