Brussels seeks to settle refugees in Europe, says Hungarian FM
After the latest decision of the European Parliament’s civil liberties, justice and home affairs committee, no one can really doubt that there exists a plan under which Brussels is making efforts to settle refugees in Europe, Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s foreign minister, said on Sunday.
The decision opens the road for millions of illegal migrants towards Europe, he told Vasárnapi Újság, a Sunday morning programme of public Kossuth Radio.
Moreover, it paves the way for the introduction of a permanent migrant distribution mechanism with no upper limit, which translates as a mandatory resettlement quota, he said.
If this decision is implemented, Europe will totally give up its security, Szijjártó said, noting that over the past two years Europe had seen 27 majors acts of terrorism that claimed 330 fatalities and caused injuries to 1300 people.
“All these acts were directly and closely associated with illegal migration, which provided a chance for terrorist organisations to send militants . to Europe,” the minister said.
As Szijjártó said in Warsaw, NATO must now play an enhanced role on the continent because of Brussels’s failure to guarantee Europe’s security.
