Ambassador Pressman met with the Secretary of State, Senior White House Officials, and congressional leadership about the state of the U.S.-Hungary relationship
U.S. Ambassador to Hungary David Pressman traveled to Washington, D.C. this week for consultations with the United States Secretary of State, senior White House National Security Council officials, and bipartisan leadership from the United States Senate to discuss the current state of the U.S.-Hungary relationship.
The Ambassador met with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and senior White House officials to discuss recent developments in the relationship with our Ally, including uniquely anti-American rhetoric from senior Hungarian officials and pervasive anti-American rhetoric in the media controlled by the Government of Hungary.
In his meetings with Senate leadership, the Ambassador discussed the current state of our relationship, the need for unequivocal unity and resolve in standing up to Putin, the urgency of accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO, recent statements made by the leadership of Hungary about the United States, and our commitment to working to care for this important relationship at a time of enormous complexity.
“Hungary has reached an important moment in determining its future path,” the Ambassador said. “As Russia’s unjustifiable war rages next door, the time is now for a stronger relationship between Hungary and its Transatlantic Allies and partners.”

the Biden Goverment set out to control any and all media including Facebook , Twitter, and YouTube. The US mega media companies control the western world- they can shut Hungary down with a click.
You should watch the Twitter hearings started on Thursday. Hungary is such a little country they couldn’t care or have time but focus on silenceing it’s own people. Just like in the US goverment workers – mostly Obama era run the goverment agency’s and do their best to control the media. Many have former high CIA , FBI ,NSA and others on there staff.
The many former fBI people at Twitter had a separate email system.
I’m sure hungary could have many corrupt people in service as the goverment has been in power for along time. Just like the 8 years of Obama people that now run the UKraine war including Biden. Being neighbors of UKraine, I would think you would have better coverage. Twice you had reported on money the US has spent in Ukraine only to be off by 3 times the billions sent and more on the way- it’s not a secret , but where all the money had gone is not accounted for.
Forgive me – I forgot you can’t handle 3-4 comments at a time.
Regarding the headline above: If everything was honky-dori here, then the ambassador wouldn’t have anything to “complain” about, would he.
If PM Orbán and some of his colleagues feel “hurt” or hard done-by by one (some?) of the FREE Swedish media, then how is the U.S. supposed to feel?
Come on people, most of Fidesz parliamentarians act as if they are brood of headless chickens, and are we in a kindergarten.
Well, TM, seems you forgot that your idol Donald was in charge between Obama and Biden and attempted to overthrow the government, used twitter extensively to brainwash his followers, and was instrumental in allowing Fox to completely lie to it’s views while privately claiming they knew it was all crap. Looks like you drank the Koolaid, lots and lots of Koolaid.
Right on Donald and Eric!
