Motorsport: Talmacsi Sets Up His Own Racing Team

Gabor Talmacsi, the 2007 Grand Prix motorcycle racing 125 cc World Champion decided to create his own racing named Talmacsi Racing, reports nemzetisport.hu

Talmacsi held the first, introductory press conference for the team, where he announced that two racers will compete in first year. The 19 years old Richard Bodis will race in the European Superstock 600 Championship, while the 13 years old Alexander Somosi will drive in the European Junior Cup’s last four race.

He said: “I made my old dream come through by setting upmy own team”. He added that he would like to give his own experiences to the youngsters.

Both of the guys learned the secrets of bike racing at Talmacsi’s racing school. For years people could learn at the school how to drive a bike, and now with the racing team, the possibility to race in international championships is given.

To the questions concerning his return to racing he told that he is still recovering from his injury last year. Talmácsi admitted that if he returns, he will race for his team.

His last surgery was a month ago, but it is not yet clear that he can come back. He needs at least three more months to decide that.

There are many examples of former bikers founding a new team. Valention Rossi, 9 times world champion started a Moto3 team this year, but Jorge AsparMartinez, ownerof the team in which Talmacsi was champion also used to be a racer.
