New structure of the Orbán Government: Lázár, Varga officially appointed strategic, economic cabinet chiefs
Budapest, July 22 (MTI) – János Lázár, head of the prime minister’s office, will in the future be in charge of the government’s recently established strategic cabinet, the official Hungarian Gazette reported.
Economy minister Mihály Varga has been appointed head of a new economic cabinet, the paper said on Thursday.
In the new structure, the government itself, its strategic, economic, and national security cabinets are the main political decision-making bodies, the paper said.
Lázár and Varga will be members of each other’s cabinets, as well as Lászlo Trócsanyi, the justice minister. Ministers who submit actual proposals will be members on an ad-hoc basis. All cabinet sessions will be attended by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Antal Rogán, his cabinet chief.
The new structure comes into force today.
Lázár announced the government decision to establish the new cabinets two weeks ago.
