  • AKKO Invest board advises against accepting buyout offer

The board of listed asset management company AKKO Invest recommended shareholders not accept a buyout offer as they could miss out on a higher return than that provided by the bid price in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The board noted that the parties acting in concert to make the offer — Mevinvest, Wingholding, Dayton-Invest and the investor Tibor Veres — planned to further develop AKKO’s portfolio which could financially benefit shareholders. Shareholders who accept the buyout offer could miss out on “upside potential”, the board said.

AKKO announced that it had received the mandatory buyout offer — at HUF 266/share, the statutory minimum — a week earlier.

  1. The Fidesz government bought Vodaphone Hungary putting it in government hands to be better able to spy on Hungarians. There is no other logical reason for them to spend 1.8 billion euros the government doesn’t have. Use T-Mobile. Their service is better and you are less likely to have dictator Orban monitoring you. There is no democracy in Hungary. They will come after you in you oppose the government.
