Fidesz: Hungarian left-wing MEPs possibly held ties with politician accused in Brussels corruption scandal

corruption European Union Fidesz Hungary

Ruling Fidesz said on Monday that left-wing Hungarian MEPs possibly maintained links with the defendant in a corruption scandal in Brussels.

Fidesz communications director István Hollik said in a video on Facebook that based on reports about the Brussels corruption scandal, there was “strong suspicion” that “MEPs of the dollar left-wing”, including Klara Dobrev and Istvan Ujhelyi possibly maintained links with the primary defendant in the scandal, former vice president of the EP Eva Kaili.

The “dollar left-wing” denies this, but they shared Facebook entries and photos including “grinning selfies” showing that links with Kaili went further than being work colleagues, Hollik said.

He called on members of the “dollar left-wing” to talk openly about alleged foreign influence in Hungary’s parliamentary elections last year, as well as “their role in the Brussels corruption scandal”.

As we wrote before, pro-government survey said, majority of Hungarians consider EU leaders corrupt.

…the opposition will do anything to harm the people of the country…

Just who the fruit, I mean who else (other than Hollik), is fabricating garbage like this, and I’m not thinking of the author of this article.

I can already see where this might be heading to. Veild accuations and hinting about something that is in fact nothing. If there is no dirt, just hint that there is and the gullible will believe.

My word! Of coure there are currupt EU leaders, just start with the really big fish, no shark, from our own pond, and I’m not thinking about the ones Hollik is trying to implicate, or at least, smear.

I think that “possibly” mariavontheresa may be an agent of the current government, posting here to dilute any negative press. I would seem that the “whataboutism” of this government is running out of imaginary scandals about the opposition, while at the same time draining the treasury with glory projects instead of paying teachers and building things as boring as hospitals (nobody wants special seats in a hospital, but the stadiums are quite different!).

It’s incredible what lengths this government will go to in smearing the opposition. Possibly isn’t definitely. And yet the gullible like the first comment still believe what this government says. What’s harming us is our inflation is at 24.5% and rising, yet everywhere else it’s falling.
All this government does is try and distract us. Fortunately a lot of us take the ramblings of Fidesz with a massive pinch of salt.

Dear gaborzsazsa, I am not an agent or in any way connected to FIDESZ. However, having studied and followed politics, wearing rose colored glasses and hoping for the best from EU countries is naive. Hungary’s history shows that the country always lost under foreign dictatorship, whether it was Habsburg, communist, or fascist. Hungarians lost under the Austro-Hungarian Empire because the Hungarian elite sided with the Austrians, there-by betraying the country. Hungarians lost under communism because people like Rakosi betrayed the country and sided with the oppressive Russians; it took many young lives in 1956 to start throwing off the communist dictatorship.

Now, the opposition parties are playing the same game, betraying the people of Hungary. They want power. Therefore, the oppositions are asking a foreign power to finance them and to help them gain power, instead of going to the people and presenting them with an alternative solution. The price Hungarian people will pay in the long run if the opposition wins by foreign support will be costly and it will end in ceding sovereignty.
