Stephen King horror near Pécs: Finnish couple made 14yo wear nappies, abused him, forbade him to leave house

A court in Pécs has ordered a Finnish couple suspected of maltreating an adopted adolescent to come under police supervision.
The family came to the attention of the authorities when a woman reported their son as missing last July. The boy was discovered the same day hiding under the bushes in a neighbouring garden and was hospitalised. An examination revealed that the boy, 14 years old at the time, was wearing nappies needlessly.
The police launched an investigation and found that the parents had moved to a village in south-western Hungary with a child of their own and the adopted son in 2022. They failed to register the adopted child with the authorities or send him to school, neither did they register him with medical services.
Finnish couple did not even allow him to use electricity
The boy was not allowed to leave the house and was often confined to a small room without natural light. He was also forbidden to use the bathroom and was forced to wear nappies, which the parents changed once a day. Once a week he was stripped naked and washed with cold water in the courtyard, even in the wintertime, the police report said.

The child eventually managed to flee the house by prizing open the back of a cupboard separating his hut from the kitchen.
A psychologist established that the child was extremely underdeveloped mentally and was seriously endangered.
The couple was detained before being released under police supervision for four months. During this period they must not leave their village without police permission.
The prosecutor has appealed for the suspects to be arrested.
The court’s decision is not final.
