On this weekend: Here’s Hungary’s first indoor beer festival!
This weekend has a perfect programme for beer lovers: Serfőző and Danubius Hotel Gellért are hosting Hungary’s first indoor beer festival between 19-21 February (check out the official website here!). Visitors can savour more than a 100 different kinds of beers (both tapped and bottled), reports szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu.
Many brands and breweries will be represented at the festival, such as Barbár, Blanche de Bruxelles, Bohemia Regent, Corsendonk, Floris Kriek, Delirium, Serkentő – Franzberger Brewery, Sümegi Brewery, Zirci Apátság Manufacture, Guinness, Kilkenny, Bombardier, Primátor, Bernard, Bigfoot Brewery, Csíki Beer, Fóti Handcraft Brewery, Wells & Young’s Brewery, Brewdog, Flying Dog, Oedipus, Opat, Pardubicky Porter, and Postřižinské
During the weekend every day will have the beers of a different nation: Friday is the day of the English beer, Saturday is for German beer, and the festival ends with Czech beer on Sunday. A band named Birds (Madarak) will have a live show every day, to provide the given nation’s atmosphere.
Getting hungry will not be a problem either, because anyone can have a Pub Dinner, which consists of 5 courses and both the beers and the food are made by the bests, including Élesztő, Léhűtő, Marionett, and Importer. After the Pub Dinners on Friday and Saturday the festival ends with a Beer Brunch and Dinner on Sunday.
Mihály Fabók, Gundel Restaurant’s sommelier will talk about beers from an oenologist’s point of view, and it will be an excellent opportunity to meet Eszter Horváth, the best beer drafter of Hungary, and Csaba Katona, who’s an expert of “beer historic sciences” and will offer and entertaining beer tasting. Don’t forget the beer competition and the beer drinking competition!
More information on the tickets here. Each ticket comes with 1 entry to the beer festival and 1 mug with a logo which is filled by the gift beer of your choice on one occasion at the festival.
