Hungarian diplomat escorted by police in Brazil – huge crowd shouted she was racist! – VIDEOS
Police officers had to rescue a Hungarian national from the metro in Brazil after an argument broke out and passengers began yelling racist comments at her. Later it turned out that Ágnes V. was an assistant to the local Hungarian Consulate General.
According to telex.hu, videos of a Hungarian woman escorted by the police from the São Paulo metro after an enraged crowd started to shout she war racist went viral on Twitter and the Brazilian media. Circumstances are not yet clear, but videos show Ágnes V.’s argument with a Brazilian woman on the metro.

Based on the current information, it seems that Ágnes asked the other passenger sitting next to her to take her hair off her because she wanted to avoid getting infected. Other words may have been exchanged as well, but telex.hu says this particular request enraged the Brazilian woman. However, as you can see in the videos, all passengers on the metro wear face masks. Thus, there could have been a healthcare reason for such a request on the Hungarian woman’s part. Although it cannot be ruled out that the explanation of the conflict might be something utterly different.

Either way, the Brazilian woman immediately accused Ágnes of racism, and, according to the videos, most passengers agreed with her. The videos show that hundreds of people started to shout that she was racist, so police had to escort her out of the metro. Telex.hu said local police initiated an investigation into the issue.
Since posts and comments stated on social media sites that she worked for the Hungarian Consulate General in São Paulo, inquiries were sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They confirmed the information later and added that their consulate general is in contact, cooperating with local authorities. However, they shared no more details about the ongoing process – blikk.hu reported.
