Hungary below EU average ranked by GDP, consumption per capita
Luxembourg, June 15 (MTI) – Hungary is ranked 24th out of 28 European Union member states on the Eurostat’s latest ranking of countries by GDP per capita on a purchasing power parity basis using 2015 data, a report published on Wednesday shows.
Hungary’s GDP per capita was 68 percent of the European Union average and the actual individual consumption (AIC) per capita was 62 percent (ranking it 25th based on this measure).
The highest GDP-per capita was recorded in Luxembourg and the lowest in Bulgaria last year, with 271 percent and 46 percent of the EU-28 average, respectively. Luxembourg also recorded the highest level of AIC per capita in the EU-28, at 137 percent of the EU-28 average, while Bulgaria recorded the lowest at 51 percent.
