Coronavirus-related restrictions remain in effect until April 8
Hungary has no room to loosen lockdown measures yet due to a rise in coronavirus infections. Details:
Shops, with the exception of grocery stores, pharmacies, petrol stations, drugstores, tobacco shops, shops selling tools for “spring gardening”, pet food and fodder shops, and markets, will have to be closed, and services will have to stop, with the exception of private healthcare, social care, financial, postal, and car repair services, suspended between March 8 and Eastern.
Kindergartens and primary schools will be closed from March 8 until April 19.
Gyms will continue to be closed for two weeks, but licenced athletes will be allowed to train and compete behind closed doors. Parks will be allowed to stay open and outdoor sports will also be allowed for activities in which people can maintain a safe distance of 1.5 metres.
The government asks employers to ensure that their employees can work from home wherever possible, particularly in the case of those with children.
Mask-wearing remains mandatory outdoors. Hungary would impose tighter controls on its borders, adding, however, that freight and transit traffic will not be restricted. Wage subsidies and tax cuts introduced for the hospitality industry will be expanded for the period of the lockdown to all sectors forced to shut down by the new measures.

Death to population ratio of 9.6 million – represents (1) Hungarian death to every 472 citizens and rising.
Weight of case numbers plus continuing new daily case numbers – increased citizens numbers on ventilators – life support, we remain in highly dangerous and un-certain times, in our fight against this novel coronavirus.
Medical Statistical Information and Reports – clearly highlight, that to consider opening Hungary or lessening current citizens imposed Laws, on the April 8th, would be premature and could “soar” figures to higher levels that we currently are witnessing.
The human barrier of immunization must reach 65% of the Hungarian population before loosening or relaxing/releasing – restrictions that are currently under Law in Hungary.
The “goal” figure of 2.3 million Hungarians to be immunized by April 8th, expressed by our Government, is un-realistic and will not be achieved.
Question to ask and answered – of the “goal” target by Government of 2.3 million, what percentage would have received injection 1 – and what percentage would be fully x2 injections immunized ?
Medical Statistical Information and Data strongly suggest the Human barrier percentage – should be a “goal” being 65% and greater of our Hungarian population.
In achieving this 65% human barrier of population immunized, we would be Medically safer platform position, to fight – the on-going challenges we face, through this novel coronavirus.
We all thank Professor (“THE PONTIFICATOR”) Circumspect for his entertaining synopsis of the COVID-19 situation in Hungary.
Please tell us, dear Professor, the extent of your MEDICAL qualifications (if any) or are you just repeating what you might have read in the ‘tabloid press’ ?
What a good little parrot you have turned out to be for the left-wing opposition political parties – even better than the (in)famous Mario !
You both deserve a fresh piece of fruit to be placed inside your respective cages.
No doubt the E.U. Commissioner for caged birds – Vera Jourova (a.k.a. Dracula’s wife) – will be pleased with your performance over the past few weeks.
In the meantime, please rest assured that Prime Minister Orban – and his democratically-elected Government – will obtain the BEST POSSIBLE medical advice from proper experts (not readers of tea leaves !) before Hungary is (re)opened for business.
By the way, dear Professor, there are more than 2 million Hungarians who have received their first vaccine as of today (myself included) so the ‘goal’ of 2.3 million within the next seven days is not only realistic but also quite achievable.
There is NO DOUBT that neither Mr. Orban nor his MEDICAL advisors felt any need to consult with you
in these matters – they would probably have ‘fallen asleep’ whilst trying to understand your ramblings.
Please go and find some proper work – you fail miserably as a contributor to D.N.H.
