Interactive Museum Trip In Debrecen
As part of the ƧUTЯA performance, the Artus Contemporary Art Studio gives a unique theatrical program in the Modern and Contemporary Art Center of Debrecen (MODEM) between 26th and 27th of April.
According to kulturpart.hu, high school students could take part in an unusual, interactive museum trip during each theatrical workshop which is related to the ƧUTЯA performance. Within a special game, this trip provides an opportunity for discovering a rarely examined area of the theatre. The Artus Contemporary Art Studio mainly focuses on visual theatre forms, thus the center of the interactive trip is also focusing on the unique method of creative direction of the theatre company.
The ƧUTЯA performance will be displayed in the MODEM in Debrecen on the 26th and 27th April. The genre of this production is difficult to determine because interactive music, visual situations and dance performances also characterizes the specific show. It is mostly regarded as an unusual guided tour where viewing and initiation will run in parallel. The movement and the presence of the performers use the techniques of butoh (Japanese) and taichi (Chinese), mixing them with European contemporary traditions. The title of the performance (ƧUTЯA) is a Sanskrit word which means “stitch” in different contents. Interestingly, spelling the word Artus backwards is ƧUTЯA.
During the theatrical workshop the audience – mainly high school children – could discover the visual installations as active participants. Besides, they could even become creators of these installations. Having tried some parts of the working method of the Artus, they can take part in a common creative progression. Therefore, they can experience a new type of creative and artistic point of view.
Furthermore, this theatrical workshop may uncover those emotions and impressions that the exhibited art works and theatrical experiences could evoke. Eventually, the audience might get real knowledge about the theatre itself by their own experiences.
The aim of the 90-minute-long workshop is to call teenagers’ attention to contemporary artworks and alternative theatre performances. Furthermore, the company would also like to teach teenagers how to interpret the artistic works and theatrical forms in an unforgettable way.
