Disgrace
Well, well, well, funny innit?
How the hungarians are compensating for their incompetence?
Maybe, first, they should learn “how to play football” before they act like fascist idiots!
but hey!
at least “hate” is something they are “good at”
haha!
Well done England, well done, beat the fascist beat them all, and they beat them 4 HUGE GOALS!
(wink-wink)
They also threw cups and bottles on to the pitch aimed at players as well as a flare. Not nice at all.
The monkey noises were directed at an 18 year old player. Hungary should be banned from competing or hosting. Embarrassing, disgraceful and disgusting behaviour from some fans. Use facial recognition cameras and impose heavy fines or ban from any future matches.
Once again Hungary makes the news for all the wrong reasons. Imagine how many millions saw this match. Appalling behaviour, and has left people speechless.
Years ago a highschool team from Hungary was hosted by families in the community of Kentville, Berwick, New Minas area of Nova Scotia. In other words, given free room in private homes with student’s families, food, transportation, entertainment, sight seeing, a chance to practice English to enhance oneself & help with the English exams down the road.
I was restoring a United church manse in that area & close friends told me about the hockey game in their arena that these kids would be playing. Thinking that it would be wonderful to get to speak Magyar with someone I attended the game with my girls & friends. The nasty behavior of the team towards their hosts’ players was absolutely disgraceful. And the students from Hungary who were not on the hockey team behaved just as badly in the stands. Shouting dirty mouthed slurs at the refs, who in our small communities are simply good hearted parents who volunteer for these friendly sporting events, at the other teams’ players & even at guests in the stands. I was absolutely mortified and humiliated. I actually had sat directly behind these spectators so heard every word clearly, both their English & Magyar mouthing off.
The game had to be stopped several times for extremely aggressive behavior and in the end it was a most terrible event. What had been expected as fun, light rivalry between mates in this cultural exchanged brought nothing but shame on Hungarians. For weeks afterwards I had to hear about this at my workplace. I have no idea how the Hungarian students could face those families who had been so generous to them, could show their faces at the local school the next number of days prior to being sent packing back to Hungary.
England manager Southgate: “The world is modernising and although some people are stuck in their ways of thinking and their prejudices, they’re going to be the dinosaurs in the end because the world is changing.”
Words that unfortunately ring true for our country!
“Meanwhile, the Hungarian players pointed at the Respect on their T-shirts”… And after the game, they went to the Ultras area to thank the fans…
Not a proud moment.
Hungarians will always be hungarians !
Hungarians find taking a knee irritating and silly. Taking a knee has not improved anyone’s circumstance. Talk or taking a knee is a cheap way of expressing solidarity instead of concrete action. Hungarians refuse to accept playing at politics during the game.
However, I am certain that all those fans that miss behaved knew better. There is no excuse to ridicule people for the color of their skin, the color was not their choice. It is time for the fans to grow up and stop acting like kindergarten pupils.
If FIFA makes a bid deal of this, it will encourage others to copy this behavior. There is free speech in Hungary, something that other EU citizens should and will demand.
You see this behaviour as free speech? You’re the one always wanting to protect the young. The monkey noises and paper cups were directed towards an 18 year old. Of course the fans knew better, they’re nothing more than hatred filled racist thugs.
Where was the outrage after the outrageous, racist conduct of British fans against the Italians? I don’t suppose Boris had any words about that? Get a decent haircut Boris. The British were brutal colonizers and they have plenty to beg forgiveness from those they exploited, tortured and murdered in their colonies for centuries. They should do it at home. Don’t insult the Hungarians by bringing your shame to Hungary. Deal with your shame at home.
Boris did actually, sadly a lot of comments were also made via Instagram so made it a lot harder to track people. Cowards. Those who were recognised were dealt with, it took time. Problem is millions saw how both these nations behaved. That’s what everyone will remember. Millions aren’t reading these comments.
There is a big difference between booing and the throwing of projectiles (including a flare) at players and making monkey chants at black players.
Think you’re missing the point István. Shouldn’t take the knee really, sport and politics don’t mix but it’s done. But the racial abuse is something different. Yes, the English behaved appallingly towards the Italians and even their own players after they lost, those who they managed to find were dealt with. But it doesn’t excuse the way the Hungarian fans behaved, not monkey noises to someone under 20, and that’s what millions will remember. Plus Hungary was fined by UEFA for €100,00 during the Euros for their racist and homophobic behaviour. They weren’t even playing England then but Portugal, France and Germany. Let’s not forget that.
Defiance against global social pressure regarding hyped politicized behavioral change shows strenght and character!
The British came to Hungary to provoke the Hungarians with their kneeing for the white-hating, racist BLM (Burn Loot Murder) terrorist organization. If they feel and rightly so that their past treatment of colonized continents require them to do penance, they should do penance but not in Hungary. They can kiss the feet of every colored they have historically brutalized but not in Hungary. I and my ancestors had no slaves. The fabulous British palaces and public buildings were built with the sweat and blood of slaves. Your crime. Your penance. Do your penance at home.
England was a world colonizer!!! They sould worry about their own abusive history.
