Guest nights in Hungary plunge 93 pc in May
Guest nights spent in Hungarian commercial accommodation in May plunged by 92.7 percent in a yearly comparison, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Tuesday.
The number of nights spent by foreign guests dropped by 98.4 percent and domestic guest nights were down by 85.9 percent compared with the same period the previous year.
In May total revenue calculated at current prices dropped by an annual 93.4 percent.
In the first five months, guest nights fell by 56.1 percent, with a total of 4.407 million guest nights spent.
Foreign guests spent 59 percent fewer guest nights while domestic guests nights were down 52.8 percent.
Total revenue shrank by 53.4 percent, amounting to 87 billion forints (EUR 246.5m) in the January-May period.
