Hungarian Ecumenical Charity sends aid to Transcarpathia
The Hungarian Ecumenical Charity has sent a 28-tonne delivery of food and hygienic supplies to Transcarpathia, a region in the west of Ukraine with a large ethnic Hungarian population, director László Lehel said on Saturday.
In addition to the goods collected by the charity, a large part was donated by retailer Tesco, Lehel said. Haulier Waberer’s is delivering the shipment free of charge, he added.
The charity’s staff will visit the border region with its goodwill ambassador, Anikó Lévai, the wife of Hungary’s prime minister, on Tuesday.
