One of Hungary’s most popular restaurant chains is also closed for Christmas
After a series of closures by various restaurants, McDonald’s has announced that it will remain shut on 24th December.
“In consideration of our employees and their families, McDonald’s will be closed from 6.00 a.m. on 24 December,” stated the company.
Traditionally, the restaurant chain closed on both December 24th and, typically, December 25th in previous years. Among the 113 McDonald’s outlets, only those in the Arena Mall and Mom Park will remain open, complying with the opening hours of these shopping malls.
“For our company, it is paramount that our colleagues can enjoy the Christmas holiday with their families and loved ones in peace. While the majority of McDonald’s restaurants in Hungary closed on 24th December in previous years, but this year, in collaboration with our franchise partners, we achieved on a systemic level that all but two of our restaurants will be closed,” quoted Andrea HorvĂ¡th, CEO of Progress ÉtteremhĂ¡lĂ³zat Ltd, the McDonald’s restaurant chain in Hungary, according to index.hu.
As previously reported, numerous shops will be closed for Christmas. Grocery chains Penny, Lidl, and Spar will remain closed, alongside Deichmann, JYSK, Diego, and Rossmann.
