PHOTO: Burnt down Hungarian hotel to be completely reborn
The Hotel Silvanus in Visegrád caught fire last Saturday morning. The fourth floor and the roof were engulfed in flames, and it took several hours for the firefighters to contain the flames. Now, the board has sent a message: they will be back on their feet, reborn, brighter than ever.
As we reported, the accommodation building, near the iconic Visegrád castle, caught fire last Saturday. The tragedy concerned the upper floors of the building and was visible from kilometres away. The fire affected 2-300 sqm of roof structure and floor area. It took several hours for the firefighters to control the flames.
Fortunately, there were no personal injuries: all 230 people in the building escaped unharmed.
The Silvanus staff came out with an encouraging message this week, announcing that renovation work has begun in the building, Mandiner reports. The announcement was accompanied by a photo of the workers in work gloves. It was accompanied by the caption “We’re getting back on our feet!”:
Világgazdaság recently learned that the entire building will be closed until 31 July, but from 1 August, a partial opening is planned for the first and second floors, and the entire building is scheduled to reopen by New Year’s Eve.
