PHOTOS: Orbán received a warm welcome from Macron in Paris
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and French President Emmanuel Macron have started talks in Paris.
Ahead of a working dinner at the Elysee Palace, Macron received Orbán in the palace’s court shortly after 8.30pm.
According to French news reports, the sides are scheduled to discuss current European issues including the Russia-Ukraine war, support to Ukraine, strengthening European competitiveness, energy security, and developing Europe’s defence industry.
As we wrote before, the expansion of the Paks plant cannot succeed without cooperation with France, given that the control system for the new reactor blocks is being supplied by a French-German consortium, Péter Szijjártó said. Details HERE.

Should have been a lively enough evening for Mr. Orbán! Mr. Macron apparently also raised European values (read: not nationalist), the need for European unity (read: support for the sanctions regime), our NATO accession ratification heel dragging and Hungary’s continuing rule of law challenges.
