Hungarian Miss Universe contestant walked the runway in cheap dress

Just a few days ago, on 13 December, the 70th annual Miss Universe took place in Eilat, Israel. Every contestant was eager to share their national costumes – one exception was Viktória Jázmin, Hungary’s contestant.

The Miss Universe beauty pageant has several stages. At one point, the contestants have to present their national costumes on stage. As 444 reported, when it was Hungary’s turn this year,

Viktória Jázmin walked out from backstage in a HUF 9995 Zara dress, holding a huge Hungarian flag.

Instead of a costume with, for example, traditional Hungarian Matyó embroidery on it, she had to wear a dress that anyone could buy and wear anytime. While the dress is absolutely not unique to Hungary, with the tricolour flag, she made it clear what country she represents.

However, Viktória’s costume has come under fire from critics. According to some people,

the Hungarian national dress is so beautiful that it should not have been left out of the competition.

  1. She looks like she’s wearing the dress wrong and has both straps on one side? Or is it just me and I’m out of touch with fashion these days…….

  2. It’s not the dress that counts but the country she is representative of.She is a true intelligent person for showing that to the world,,,,

  3. Well done. This young women represented all the Hungarian young women. No one dresses in Matyo or other Hungarian costumes on daily bases. Some costumes worn by some contestants actually looked ridicules. So once again, good job!!!!
