Budapest is a diverse city with an incredible variety of places. As the summer has ended instead of outdoor activities you might be looking for something to do indoors. The good news is that there are plenty of options to do that if you are in Budapest. Here you can find a selection of the best places you can visit.
Funzine.hu had created a nice summary of the best places you can find in the city of Budapest. However, we would like to provide you even with some hidden gems that you might not be able to find by yourselves.
If you want to start your day with some delicious pastries then look no further! At 56 Bartók Béla Street, you can find Pékschég, a friendly little bakery that provides the essentials for your breakfast. Here you can find everything that you might want in a bakery, but also many specialities. This place can be the best choice for a quick grab-and-go breakfast if you want to start exploring the city early.
If you are looking for a place to have lunch you can go to Borostyán Bistro! This place is a great choice if you want to fill your belly with some delicious Hungarian food. Here you can even try some specialities from the country of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén. The actual daily meal might even be a great choice for people on a short budget who still want to try these exceptional foods. You just have to go to 36 Gizella Street.
DOC Pane e Vino
Let’s head down south to the world of Italian food and wine! On Arany János Street, you can find the most authentic Italian restaurants in the city. Probably, the best choice among them is DOC Pane e Vino which has been recently transformed from a wine bar to a full-fledged restaurant. After the long reconstruction, it is finally back again with delicious meals, especially from the city of Trieste. If you go to 9/B Arany János Street, do not forget to try the best Italian wines either!
Mantra Specialty Coffee
Hidden in the inner city lies this gem called Mantra Specialty Coffee. From personal experience, I can tell you that this is the place where you can get the best coffee downtown! If you visit 17 Veres Pálné Street, do not forget to try out their Chai Latte, which is the best you will ever drink in your life! This is the go-to place for many students and friends to have a nice beverage after a long day.
TEATRO di fragola
If you want to close your day with a vibey evening then you should visit TEATRO di fragola! The small, cosy place provides a wide variety of meals and it is a great choice every time of the day. However, during the evening, there are usually some interesting programmes. After a long sightseeing day, a nice film screening, theatre play, concert, literature night or exhibition might be the one thing you need. If you feel like going, do not forget the address: 5 Újpesti Wharf!
