Conference explores causes for shortage of labour in tourism, catering
Budapest, October 14 (MTI) – A labour shortage in tourism and catering is growing, the head of an employers’ interest representation body told a conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
Zoltan Pal Gal, head of the interest representation body VIMOSZ, said the shortage of labour in tourism and catering sometimes makes it impossible to provide the necessary services.
Economy ministry representatives said training in the sector needs to be reformed and domestic demand stimulated using cost-effective solutions.
Laszlo Odrobina, economy ministry state secretary for vocational and adult education, said that expanding employment poses a problem throughout Europe and only a reform of the system could solve the labour shortage.
