Justice Minister: Migration problem should be resolved outside Europe
Budapest, September 15 (MTI) – The problem of migration needs to be resolved outside Europe or else “a discussion of refugee numbers and distribution of refugees will not be off the agenda,” Justice Minister Laszlo Trocsanyi told Greek portal in.gr on Tuesday.
Trocsanyi stressed the need to reinforce Frontex, the EU’s border control agency, and urged solutions to prevent further masses from entering Europe. He also called for patience and dialogue, and noted differences between the peoples of Europe. “This is not the United States,” he insisted, and argued that each country had their own history, culture, and opinion. “We want a solution which is acceptable to all peoples of the European Union,” he said.
Trócsányi suggested that causes of the crisis should be identified first, and then the options should be discussed within and outside Europe.
Asked about Viktor Orban’s recent statement blaming Greece for the migrant crisis, Trocsanyi said that the prime minister had spoken in defence of the Schengen regime which is about to collapse, a development Hungary would like to prevent in any case.
