One of Hungary’s most popular festivals not to be held in 2023!

The team thanked everybody who contributed to successfully organising the previous festivals. But because of the economic crisis, they said they could not hold the 2023 festival.

“First, we would like to thank you for your support and the tremendous enquiring messages in the name of the entire team of the VOLT Festival”, the official announcement of the developers starts on the official Facebook page of the event.

They said the festival was a “real love brand”. It was a big event among the Hungarian festivals dear for both the organisers and those regularly attending it. They developed it from a “sports hall house party” on which around 800 visitors were present into the most popular rural festival in Hungary.

However, they admitted cost restrictions had to be introduced for the 2022 festival in Sopron. “In the uncertain economic circumstances, we do not have the opportunity to organise the VOLT following the quality standards our visitors got used to”, they cleared.

Therefore, next year’s Telekom VOLT Festival is cancelled, the organisers noted. They added the decision was difficult, but made after carefully considering every relevant factor.

“We saw a lot of wonderful and unforgettable experiences in the last 30 years”, they said. The organisers promised that provided the economic outlook improves, Telekom VOLT Festival would return to Sopron.

The statement cited Sopron Mayor Ciprián Farkas as saying that the city’s leadership accepted the organisers’ decision, MTI reported. Sopron has always been welcoming of the event and trusts that it will again be able to host the festival once the current difficult period was over, he said.
