The number of used cars sold in Hungary rose by an annual 11.5 percent in the first half of 2017 to 332,562, used car dealer DasWeltAuto told MTI.
Opel was the most popular brand as 45,742 of its cars were resold followed by 34,099 Suzuki cars and 32,347 Volkswagen cars, DasWeltAuto said, citing figures compiled by Datahouse.
Some 76 percent of the used cars were more than 10 years old and only 11.9 percent were less than 5 years old.
As we wrote before, almost three-fourths of Hungarian households have cars that are more than ten years old. Brand manager György Frank noted that the average age of used cars keeps creeping up and is now nearing 14 years.
