What to do after the pandemic? – Visit Hungary’s floating village – PHOTOS
Hungary’s first fully floating village will be built in Abádszalók.
We know that the pandemic is still influencing our everyday lives. We know that almost all borders are still closed, and entering countries is still problematic. Hungary is not an exception either; negative records in terms of the virus are beaten almost every day.
Over 300 people died of Covid on Tuesday
However, we all need some positivity and something to hold on to, something to look forward to after this nightmare is over. We have brought you exactly this, a bunch of pictures of beautiful floating homes that will form a complete village on a Hungarian lake.
Newly built properties ready to find their owners ?
Even though we have already written about beautiful floating villages in Hungary, none of these settlements on our previous list is actually moving on top of the water. With these new houses, however, we will be able to change position.
In Western-Europe, the concept is already well-known, and prices also reflect that. It is good news that in Hungary, it is a relatively new idea whose realisation is being accelerated by the pandemic. The demand for properties in the proximity of water is rapidly increasing. Living in a small house like these, in the middle of a lake, quite far away from everything, is the perfect way to run away from worries.
Abádszalók and the
Abádi Port will give home to the country’s first authentic floating village with 17 houses,
from which ten will be ready by this June, writes sokszinuvidek.24.hu.
On the one hand, these properties are perfect for investment as they can easily be rented for a calm and cosy holiday. Thanks to the direct proximity of water, these houses can generate more income than their conventional ancestors.
On the other hand, the pandemic significantly changed the lives of many among us in the long run. It is enough to only think about how many people had the need to work from home and how home-office became accepted and rather a standard in Hungary as well. Primarily if we work from home, we need a quiet place to concentrate. What place could be better than a living room in the middle of a lake, far from other houses and the noises of neighbours, cars or just the city’s everyday fuss? Living in a place like this provides an entirely different quality of life.
There is no noise or light pollution. Furthermore, these buildings can be completely self-sufficient, almost to the point of being an eco-home.
“Solar panels are continuously producing electricity throughout the day. The level of pollutant emission of these houses is extremely low….The so-called “sandwich panels”, with which the walls are built, isolate the house perfectly, keeping the inside relatively cool even on the hottest summer days.”– explained Miklós Farkas, sales director of Home System Europe Kft.
As their boat-houses are equipped with an engine, we can easily travel from one port to another, even on a 5-10km distance.
There is no reason to worry about winters as the boat’s body is built with a material that does not crack, even if the water under it freezes. As we are talking about houses designed for all four seasons, they are all equipped with a heating system for those cold, Hungarian winter nights.
The properties will be built in four different sizes: 40, 48, 60 and 76m2.
Regarding their exterior designs, they will come in two types and shapes: the curved roofed and the Scandinavian concept.
Currently, the company is working on the infrastructure and the lake’s bank, as according to their plans, the first 10 buildings will be finalised before the end of June.
None of the houses is standing – or we should say floating – yet, nevertheless, if you got curious and would like to invest in one of these modern yet cosy houses, you need to hurry. 14 of the planned 17 properties have already been sold, meaning that
there are only 3 houses left!
