Budapest, December 29 (MTI) – The mortal remains of Hungarian-born actress Zsa Zsa Gábor will be buried in Budapest after a funeral in Los Angeles, her widower told DPA on Wednesday.
Frederic Prinz von Anhalt said that Gábor, who died last week of a heart attack in Los Angeles aged 99, had wanted to visit her birthplace and had long been in contact with her distant relatives in Hungary.
The actress already obtained a passport but flying to Europe would have required special assistance because she had been wheelchair-bound since a car accident in 2002.
Her only daughter from her second marriage to Conrad Hilton, however, opposed the trip, fearing her mother would not return to the United States.
The funeral will take place in Beverly Hills on Friday, Anhalt said.
