A Row of Hungarian Castles Are Built Up Again in 3D

Mno.hu dealt with the 3D reconstruction work of the Hungarian castles, various improvements on various occasions. 1. AD 1260 – Sunset at the Lake Balaton

The scene speaks for itself. This not only fabulous picture could be an everyday sight from the second half of the 13th century. According to the traditions, Szigliget, Castle of Balaton was built by the Benedictine monks for the protection of the surrounding population after the Mongol invasion.
The particular episode of the castle began in 1275 when III Peter from the Heder clan, bishop of Veszprem captured and pillaged it. He brought the treasures of the Pok clan to the episcopal seat, which the family managed to get back only in the 14th century.

2. AD 1364 – Flock of birds over the Castle of Diosgyor

The golden age of the Castle of Diosgyor was during the reign of Louis the Great. In the 1360’s, never seen developments began here which resulted the birth of an important knight’s castle of Europe. Diosgyor is especially important because castle reconstruction, made by the model of the contemporary caste, had been handed over last year. This is the first example that there is hope to leave „the country of knee-high castles”. Before the ceremony, Mno.hu also visited the proud castle of the knight king Louis I. They followed the footprints of Emese Lovasz, local-born archaeologist project leader when they were exploring the recesses of the former castle of the Hungarian queens, Mno.hu says.

3. AD 1678 – The echo of Rakoczi

Regec Castle was on of the key sites of the childhood of „young gentleman Ferko” alias Ferenc Rakoczi II. The widowed Helena Zrinyi often was here with her children, according to contemporary note, she also learned riding here. These moments are kept now after by the moral testament of Ferenc Rakoczi II and the ruins of the castle, by the 3D reconstruction as well.
