19 Photos that will make you regret you did not visit Budapest in the Winter

Change language:

You can hear people say a lot of things about Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. It is famous for its baths and many unique drinking places as well as about its many beautiful sights to see. Some people believe it is the beautiful and old buildings that are the source of the city’s magic, some believe it is the people. They might be true, but I think there are not many things that can outmatch the beautiful Winter landscape both inside Budapest and both in the outer parts. So today we picked a few stunning images that might make you re-think your next travel location. Here they are:

The following three photos are courtesy of Ildikó Kardos who is an exceptional photographer, by clicking on THIS link, you can admire her other works as well.

Winter Snow Lánchíd Budapest

In my humble opinion, this picture is beautiful it shows you a part of one of the most iconic bridges in Budapest, the ‘Lánchíd’ (Chain Bridge). Although the snowfall might be a little heavy for some, I think the snow magically turns the already beautiful bridge into a splendid scene.

Not to mention the ‘Városliget’ where the snow turned the area near Széchenyi bath into a forest from fairyland, but soon you can see even more pictures about the prettiness of ‘Városliget’.

Something as every day as the tracks of a tram could be improved by so much with only a small snowfall.

We picked five photos from the gallery of Péter Kálló, an excellent photographer who tames the lens to supply us with an incredible outcome that will surely make your jaws drop. I like these two photos the most, they not only show how much more gorgeous the city looks when the snow is covering the rooftops, it was shot from a birds-eye view presenting the viewer even more aspects of the city, but the images were also photographed at or near dusk, so the warm city lights illuminate the streets giving a picture both a little warmness but also a little magical glimmer.

The Heroes’ Square from a birds-eye view showing us the footprints of the visitors and bypassers and depicting the loneliness of winter and the statues at the same time.

Winter Budapest Snow Parliament Danube

In my opinion, the Hungarian Parliament is one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful buildings in the entire world. I might seem a little exaggerated, but I am not, I really like it and I think many people would agree with me that at least it is a very spectacular building if nothing else, especially during Winter when it is covered with snow. The photo is also amazing as it shows the Danube as well.

Winter Budapest Snow Széchenyi Fürdő Bath

This picture that was shot from the sky looking downwards at Széchenyi Bath in Városliget is amazing, I can see the steam coming from the thermal water and makes me immediately want to jump into it to warm up.

The next five images are courtesy of Tamás Rizsavi who is just as an incredible photographer as the others whom we mentioned so far. You can take a look at his other photos by clicking HERE.
