The largest Gala Celebration of India’s grand Navratri festival returns to Budapest for a full 3-day festivity from October 21st to 23rd, 2023, at Fonó Budai Zeneház, 3 Sztregova Street, 1116, Hungary.
Background and significance
Navratri (Sanskrit: “nine nights”), spanning nine nights, honors the divine feminine, particularly Goddess Durga, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. This major Indian festival includes energetic dances like Garba and Dandiya, fasting, and devotion to Goddess Durga. The Goddess is celebrated with grand processions, elaborate rituals, and cultural events.
Event highlights
Morning: Devi worship (According to divyajivan.org, Devi worship or Durga Puja is the adoration of the Divine Mother of all things, who bear the seed of Universe in her imperishable womb, the Mahat-Brahma.)
Evening Cultural Events: Visitors will have the chance to watch and participate in the following unique and interesting programmes in the evenings: mesmerizing Ramayan presentation, enchanting dance drama, vibrant Garba Night, soulful chanting, creative fancy dresses, musical night with talented artists and specially the best Indian mouth watering Indian Street Food.
