Hungarian documentary wins two prizes in Sarajevo

(MTI) – Hungarian director Eszter Hajdu’s documentary “Judgement in Hungary” has won two awards at the 20th international Sarajevo Film Festival.

The film follows the court room trial of the four men accused of a series of murders of six Roma people including a five-year-old child. The hearings started in March, 2011 and ended in August, 2013. The film also traces the fate of three affected Roma families.

Hajdu’s title won the festival’s Special Jury Award and Human Rights Award at the award ceremony ending the festival on Saturday.

The president of the international jury was eminent Hungarian director Bela Tarr.
