Programme of the most prestigious wine event in Central and Eastern Europe
Budapest, 14 February, 2017 – The 8th VinCE Budapest Wine Show, the main get-together of the wine industry in Central and Eastern Europe, is open to wine lovers and wine professionals with 160 exhibitors, 1,000 wines, countless masterclasses, renowned winemakers, international experts and wine merchants as well as special tastings between 17 and 19 March in the Corinthia Hotel.
Over the last 7 years, the event has presented approximately 30 Masters of Wine (MW – one of the most respected titles in the wine industry), and attracted the biggest names in the world of wine to Budapest. Piero Antinori, Steven Spurrier, Jancis Robinson and Warren Winiarski have all participated in VinCE Budapest as presenters. Besides the exhibition, the event offers seated wine tastings – masterclasses – and workshops too, where wine lovers can taste and learn, while wineries receive up-to-date information and useful help for their work. Using the VinCE PopUpWebstore online application, visitors can immediately buy the exhibited wines they have just tasted.
VinCE Budapest is a meeting place for more than 160 exhibitors and almost 200 wine merchants, as well as journalists, bloggers and HoReCa professionals, and as such, it is also one of the most significant professional events in the region aimed at providing Hungarian winemakers with a platform that encourages growth.
The VinCE Awards will take place for the third time. This is special because everything is seen and awarded through wine, and thus it is tailored exactly to the needs of wine fanatics. The nominations are made by a closed professional body, but the voting is open to wine lovers as well.
The 2017VinCE Budapest Wine Show promises participants nothing less than a deep understanding of wines, unlocking secrets and slipping behind the scenes. You can learn about Roederer champagne, which is something of a rarity even for celebrities, and taste an aszú from 1956, while Clovis Taittinger of the international Taittinger Champagne House will personally be presenting his champagnes. You can meet Miguel Torres, the doyen of Spanish wines, and learn about the art of matching wine and food from none other than the best, Fiona Beckett.
The biggest wine event of the region starts with a professional day, offering highlights primarily for winemakers and professionals on Friday, and continues for wine lovers on Saturday and Sunday. Masterclasses will be held on both days by Hungarian and foreign experts, including Masters of Wine, while wine associations will be there too, in addition to a full masterclass in Hungarian wines for foreign guests.
