Hungarian Foreign Minister: EU sanctions against Russia not given result hoped for
London (MTI) – Sanctions introduced by the European Union against Russia have not given the results hoped for, the Ukraine-Russia conflict is not de-escalating and Europe’s economy is suffering, with central Europe suffering the most,” Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said in an interview published by Financial Times.
The interview entitled “Hungary questions EU sanctions on Russia” will be published by the London-based business daily on Friday and was already available online on Thursday.
Szijjarto told the paper that so far, Hungary is losing 50 million forints (EUR 160,000) each day due to the sanctions regime.
“Russia is our third largest trade partner and unfortunately we have lost 12 per cent of our exports to Russia and CIS so far this year,” he added.
