European Commission sends Hungary second letter of notice on asylum rules
Brussels, May 17 (MTI) – The European Commission on Wednesday sent Hungary a second letter of formal notice regarding its asylum regulations in connection with an infringement procedure the commission had launched against Hungary over the matter.
The EC said that its “complementary letter of formal notice”, a follow-up in the procedure, lays out the body’s concerns over tighter asylum regulations passed by the Hungarian parliament in March this year.
The letter follows talks held at a political and technical level with the Hungarian authorities, the EC said.
The commission launched the procedure in December 2015.
