Eagle Ottawa Hungary signs contract on EUR 30m investment at Szolnok plant
Budapest, February 27 (MTI) – American-owned Eagle Ottawa Hungary signed a contract on a 9 billion forint (EUR 30m) investment at its base in Szolnok in central Hungary on Friday.
The document was signed in the city by Bryn Kahrl, managing director of the automobile interior maker, and Mayor Ferenc Szalay.
The firm will double capacity and expand the product range at the base over two years.
Kahrl said the company has benefitted from putting a plant in Szolnok where a major incentive was a supply of trained workforce.
The mayor said the expansion will create 500 jobs in the short term and altogether 1,000-1,200 later on.
At present, the Hungarian unit employs more than 1,000 people.
Eagle Ottawa Hungary reported a net income of 5.8 billion forints on revenue of 26.9 billion in its 2012/2013 business year, public records show. Most revenue came from exports.
