Hungary gives Bogányi piano to Finland – PHOTOS
The Hungarian state has presented Finland with a Bogányi piano to mark the 100th anniversary of Finland’s independence.
The piano was presented in a ceremony in Budapest on Monday, following talks between House Speaker Laszlo Kover, and Maria Lohela, his Finnish counterpart.
The instrument will be hosted by Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy.
The sleek, futuristic Zengafons concert piano, developed under the inspiration of Kossuth Prize-winning pianist Gergely Bogányi, was first featured at a gala concert at the Academy of Music in January 2015.
As we wrote in 2015, the Day of Hungarian Culture was the debut of a new, Hungarian-developed piano at the Academy of Music. Read more here.
Also we wrote in 2016, the government has decided to purchase 10 Bogányi pianos, under a decree published in official government gazette.
