Government signs strategic cooperation agreement with Ibiden unit
Budapest (MTI) – Hungary’s government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Japanese-owned automotive industry supplier Ibiden Hungary on Tuesday.
The agreement was signed by foreign ministry state secretary Laszlo Szabo and Ibiden Hungary head Yasuhiro Asano.
The signing of the agreement underpins the implementation of Ibiden’s expansion plans in Hungary, the ministry said in a statement. The main areas of cooperation between Ibiden and the government are development of production, of R+D and of a vocational training partnership, it added.
Ibiden Hungary employs more than 2,200 people at four production halls and an R+D centre at its base in Dunavarsany, near the capital, said Szabo.
Ibiden Hungary makes diesel particulate filters.
This was the 57th strategic cooperation agreement signed by the government and a company, and Ibiden Hungary was the sixth Japanese-owned company with whom the government has signed such an agreement.
