Colorful City painted BAH-node overpass

Paintings close to pop-art, a style which was became known mainly because of Andy Warhol in the 60s, were born at BAH-node, Buda. Luke Embden from London traveled for the series of wall paint called Colorful City Budapest Festival to Hungary to create his paintings to the pillars of BAH-node, welovebudapest.com said.

During the work lasting for four days, the artist completed iconic Budapest frames, typical sights with simple, playful signs. On the painted pillars, we can discover including the Chain Bridge, the Parliament dome, but we can also see for example a Dobos cake, which is there as part of the frames inspired by the Budapest visit. “I have been in Budapest for the first time years ago. I still had to focus mainly on painting, so I had little time to look around, but I think the city has undergone an impressive development in a few years. I stayed in Vaci Street, I walked to the BAH-node on foot every day. I went to Rudas bath, checked the Pest murals, attended a concert on the A38 boat, and bought fruits in the early morning. I surely have not met a lot of problems which are in all big cities, but I would like to spend here more time once” – Luke Embden said.

Luke Embden graduated from the University of the Arts London. The artist creates in several styles, he is working as an applied graphic, but he tries to spend more time on his independent arts projects. He painted in several parts of the world, most recently he worked in Croatia, and then Singapore follows Budapest, where he also works at an arts festival.
