Roszke border station closure causes truck traffic congestion at Tompa crossing
Budapest, September 18 (MTI) – The closure of the Roszke border crossing stations has resulted in a nearly three-kilometre tailback of trucks on the Hungarian side of the Tompa crossing, with the line of trucks stretching four kilometres on the Serbian side, MTI’s on-site correspondent reported.
Motorists, however, only have to wait a couple of minutes to cross the border, but can only use one lane due to the truck congestion.
Meanwhile, Slovenia’s border checks have caused a traffic jam on the M70 highway near the border town of Toronyszentmiklos, with motorists having to wait almost 2 hours to enter Slovenia. The traffic jam is three kilometres long, local police said.
