Music Academy

The Hungarian music citadel has been operating for more than 140 years, with its excellent acoustical Great Hall, is a legendary concert venue. The academy was founded in 1975, bearing the name of the Hungarian composer, Franz Liszt. Franz Liszt Academy of Music is the only institution, during the construction of which, the composer himself played an active role. Several former students are listed among the best musicians of the 20^th century. Undoubtedly, the Music Academy is one of the essential musical heritage in the world.

Museum of Applied Arts

As lobu.hu describes, the palace of the Museum of Applied Arts was designed by Ödön Lechner and Gyula Pártos at the end of the 19^th century. Thanks to its unique solutions, the palace is considered to be a masterpiece of Art Nouveau architecture. Just to mention a few of them – the enormous colourful domes and the spacious glass hall surrounded by two-level arches all serve as imposing sceneries.

Hungarian State Opera House

Hungarian State Opera House is Hungary’s unique theatre, especially dedicated for operas and ballet performances. It was built in the 19^th century, in Neo-Renaissance style, designed by Miklós Ybl. It is less known that today’s Opera House located at Andrássy Avenue, used to be an obscure inn in the past. Fortunately, by now, nothing reminds us for these times.

Hungarian National Gallery

The Hungarian National Gallery can be found in Buda Castle Palace; it is the most extensive public collection documenting and presenting Hungarian fine arts. It operates as an independent institution since 1957; however, it only moved to its present location in 1975. Its marble interiors provide an exclusive atmosphere. The Gallery also includes two buildings – a hall decorated with red marble and works of contemporary artists, and the lapidary room containing medieval and Renaissance sculpture fragments, building sculptures and fragments of gravestones.
