Hungary guest of honour at World Youth Leaders’ Summit in Hangzhou
Hungary participated as the guest of honour at the World Youth Leaders’ Summit in Hangzhou, China, on Sunday.
Youth from Hungary and their peers from 19 other countries around the world took part at the one-day event organised for the third year by Jack Ma, the founder of online retailer Alibaba.
Innovation and Technology Ministry state secretary László György said
the Hungarian delegation at the event had presented a teqball table to Hanghzhou’s local football club SIPG FC. Teqball – a Hungarian invention that tests footballers’ concentration, skills and stamina – could become what table tennis became for China from the start of the 1970s, he added.
Szilárd Bolla, the Hungarian consul in Shanghai, said teqball would be part of the Asian Beach games on Hainan Island in 2020, and the consulate is working to put the sport on the palette of the 2022 Asian Games which will be hosted by Hangzhou.
The Brazilian footballer Cafu, a two-time World Cup winner, travelled with the Hungarian delegation to Hangzhou to promote teqball.
