Ukrainian children visiting the Hungarian Parliament
At the invitation of Miklós Soltész, Minister of State for Religious, Ethnic and Civil relations 40 Ukrainian children from war-affected zones arrived in Hungary as guests of the Hungarian government.
The kids visited the parliament where deputy-Speaker of the House Sándor Lezsák met the children and their attendant Jaroslava Hartyányi. The kids sang a Ukrainian Christmas songs then they went sightseeing. December 21, 2015.
Soltész recalled that during summer more than 660 Ukrainian children spent part of their vacation at Velence lake resort.
The current visit of Ukrainian children is the continuation of the summer program. The goal is to help kids resolve the psychological trauma and suffering caused by war said the minister.
He added that Hungary helps Ukraine wherever it can to overcome the difficulties caused by the war. Soltész also called attention to the fact that unrest, and war can cause unimaginable suffering to children who have no control over the events.
