Hungary tested nearly 5,000 for coronavirus at entry points, says operative board
Hungarian authorities have so far tested 4,927 people for the new coronavirus at entry points into the country, 408 of which received preliminary medical checks. No one as yet tested positive, the operative board told MTI on Monday.
The body coordinating response to the Covid-19 outbreak said that so far, 131 samples have been tested in laboratories, with all testing negative.
Speaking at a press conference, Colonel Tibor Lakatos, the leader of the call centre for coronavirus queries, said the board will launch a website on Wednesday the latest, providing current information and advice on the outbreak.
There are currently 89,197 Covid-19 infections in the world, 2,217 of them registered in Europe, Lakatos said. The number of fatalities so far is 3,048, 36 of whom died in Europe, he said.
As we wrote today, the risk for people living or travelling in Europe to be infected with the COVID-19 has been leveled up by the European Center for Disease Prevention Control (ECDC), European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Monday. Details HERE.
