Chinese President Xi in Wuhan vows victory over coronavirus
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday vowed to resolutely fight for a victory in the war against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) during his inspection in the outbreak epicenter Wuhan, central China‘s Hubei Province.
Xi visits community residents, frontline workers in Wuhan
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday visited residents who are quarantined at home at a community in Wuhan, the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak, following a stop at Huoshenshan Hospital, for epidemic prevention and control inspection.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, learned about community-based efforts for epidemic prevention and control and ensuring people’s daily necessities supply.
He sent regards and expressed gratitude to community residents and frontline workers.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, called for firm, solid and meticulous prevention and control efforts to defend Hubei and Wuhan.
Xi said after hard work, the situation in Hubei and Wuhan has shown positive changes with important progress, but the prevention and control task remains arduous.
Xi stressed continuing to take epidemic prevention and control as a task of paramount importance.
Xi expresses condolences to people who died in COVID-19 epidemic
President Xi on Tuesday expressed condolences to Chinese people who died in the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemic, and people who sacrificed their lives fighting on the front line.
On behalf of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Xi, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, extended greetings to all Party members, cadres and people in Hubei Province and its capital city of Wuhan.
Xi went to Wuhan Tuesday to inspect the epidemic prevention and control work.
Xi also sent his respect to medical workers, military officers and soldiers, community workers, police officers, officials, volunteers and people of all fields who have been fighting the epidemic on the front line.
He expressed sympathy to patients who are combating the disease and their relatives, as well as families of those who died of the disease and those who died on duty.
As of Monday, a total of 80,754 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 had been reported on the Chinese mainland, and 3,136 people had died of the disease.
