Coronavirus – Hungary’s football association suspends all competitions
The Hungarian football association (MLSZ) has suspended all competitions and training programmes with immediate effect, the association said on Monday.
MLSZ spokesman Jenő Sipos said on Facebook that all soccer matches, including the Hungarian top league, had been suspended.
“We have asked all soccer clubs to cancel trainings and enable players and staff to remain at home,” he said.
“I hope the measures will help contain the epidemic,” he said.
In Hungary’s first-division championship, 25 of the 33 rounds have been completed. The second league has still ten rounds to go.
