25,233 coronavirus cases confirmed in France, Italy registers 74,386 coronavirus cases
France has confirmed 25,233 coronavirus infection cases, among which 1,331 people have died, Director General of Health Jerome Salomon announced on Wednesday.
A total of 11,539 people are now hospitalized, including 2,827 in intensive care, said Salomon, adding that 3,900 are considered recovered and discharged from the hospital.
“The crisis will be long and the next few days will be difficult,” said the health official, calling on the public to “stand together”.
Italy registers 74,386 coronavirus cases
The coronavirus pandemic has claimed 7,503 lives in locked-down Italy until Wednesday with the cumulative total number of the confirmed cases reaching 74,386,
according to new data released by the Civil Protection Department.
This cumulative figure comprised 57,521 people who have tested positive so far, and 9,362 people who have recovered and the 7,503 deceased since the pandemic broke out in the northern regions on Feb. 21.
Among the people positive to the coronavirus, some 30,920, asymptomatic or with light symptoms, are currently under home confinement, and 3,489 are in intensive care, while the rest 23,112 are hospitalized in normal wards, the Civil Protection Department added.
On Tuesday, the official number of assessed case was 69,176.
