Coronavirus – Rooftop cinema opens in Budapest to ensure social distancing
Most of the Hungarian theatres started to rehearse plays and cinemas are also planning to reopen soon although the exact ways of organising entertainment are still uncertain. Cinemas and theatres suggest that people should wear dark coloured masks and there are ideas about how to keep the distance inside the buildings as well.Â
Szeretlek Magyarország reported that crowded cinemas and theatres became empty after March 11 when the Government of Hungary announced a state of emergency due to the outbroken coronavirus epidemic and did not support overcrowded events. Viewers and artists are waiting since then to get back on stage and into the screening rooms.
The orders of the government about how to reopen cinemas and theatres are still unknown, although, according to the examples of other countries, suggestions have been made.
The prior problem is people lining up to buy tickets which would be solved with online purchasing only. Theatres started to rehearse plays again, and all the actors, actresses and directors wear masks. Outdoor theatres also started the preparation for the summer season, and when the government allows opening, they would be ready to hold the first plays. Experts hope that from September the regular season could start again and therefore rearrange their programs for an autumn opening as well.Â

In another article by Szeretlek Magyarország, they wrote about making the terrace of Corvin Mall into an outdoor cinema. The KULTIK Terrace holds its first screening under the starts on June 17 at 9 pm. Viewers can enjoy the movie Emma, a comedy of Jane Austin’s novel with the same title. From June 17, KULTIK welcomes visitors every day at 9 pm with another picture. The cinema would like to screen many kinds of movies, including classics and brand new ones in almost every movie-genre.Â
Visitors can choose from fifty-four comfortable chairs and sofas, each of them put down 1.5 meters away to avoid infections. The terrace even paid attention on how to keep away mosquitos, which is solved by special torches.
