Hungarian army’s Zlin fleet complete, Airbus helicopters arrive
The Hungarian army put on show the recently arrived four Zlin light training and reconnaissance aircraft and 14 Airbus H145M medium-sized military multirole helicopters that have been purchased under the country’s large-scale defence development scheme, at the Szolnok army base on Friday.
Hungary has purchased in the framework of the Zrinyi 2026 programme altogether eight Czech-made Zlin planes to replace outdated Yak-52 training aircraft, four of which were delivered earlier.
With the arrival of the other four, the Zlin fleet is complete, Brigadier General Nándor Kilián, Inspector of the Hungarian Air Force, said at the ceremony for observation.
The other fleet has a total of 20 H145M multirole Airbus helicopters, 16 of which have already been put in operation at the Szolnok base, he said.
