Budapest Airport developing dynamically even during hard times
As a stable player of the Hungarian economy and one of the largest workplaces in Hungary, Budapest Airport operates in a transparent, safe and sustainable manner. Thanks to its continuous investments, it is developing dynamically and pays special attention to being a socially responsible company, which participates actively in the development of the region.
The operator of Budapest Airport contributes to the revenues of local municipalities and to community investments through business tax and other local tax payments of more than 5 billion HUF per year, and shares support from corporate income tax responsibly, with consideration for the development of the local communities.
Even during the current, challenging times, it is a priority for Budapest Airport to stand up for noble causes, support local communities, help those in need and be a good neighbor and a reliable and stable partner for nearby districts and settlements. During the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic, Budapest Airport donated IT equipment to educational institutions and children’s homes on several occasions, helping children to overcome the challenges of digital education.
It established a foundation to support employees who find themselves in a difficult position because of the pandemic, with management offering a part of its wages.
Upon the initiate of its employees, the company also aided a local kindergarten and hospital staff, and continued its value-adding social activities during the second half of the year as well.
Donation for district XVII
Budapest Airport decided to donate outdoor flooring used temporarily at the airport to the municipality of neighboring Rákosmente. The city operations company of Budapest District XVII took over rubber flooring covering 800 square meters in total, which could be used to revamp public spaces, or to ensure that kindergarten or school yards should be free of mud.
In March, Budapest Airport offered another significant quantity of floor mats to a kindergarten in nearby Üllő, which had been damaged by fire.
